Choir at Christmas
Cliddesden School Choir has had a very busy festive season. The children have all worked exceptionally hard and this showed in their performances.
Their first performance was singing at Milestones’ Christmas Market. They sang, confidently and clearly. Afterwards, many stallholders stopped me to compliment the children on their beautiful singing.
Our next performance was singing at the Newman Court day care centre. This has become a tradition for the choir and it is lovely to see the residents faces as they enjoy both the children’s singing and talking to the children afterwards.
At the Key Stage 1 Christmas lunch the choir sang a selection of songs from their repertoire encouraging the younger children to join in with them.
A new venue this year, for the choir, was singing at Tesco, Chineham. The children sang for over half an hour helping to raise money for the Tesco Toy Bank Appeal. During that half hour the total raised was £65.00. Tesco’s also arranged some Christmas activities for the children – making tree decorations and Christingles.
Our final performance of the year was at the St Leonards Church, Cliddesden, Nine Lessons and Carols Service. Choir sang Winter Wonderland with the Cliddesden Community Choir as well as their solo pieces. Many people complimented the choir on their lovely singing and the church organist said “They were magic.”
I am very proud of each and every member of the choir, they worked hard and sang beautifully.
