Willow Royal Dress Up

On Friday 17th March Willow Class enjoyed dressing up in royal dress up. The children came in as knights, Kings, Queens, princesses and even dragons.

Our parents joined us for the afternoon and we performed our gobbling dragon song and dance. We then spent the afternoon solving problems. Each group made an invisibility potion to help the King and Queen. They had to measure out different ingredients, including trolls bogies! They worked well as a team to work out what ingredients they should use and how much they needed to pour: full or half full.

The wicked witch has been causing havoc in the kingdom and trying to poison everybody! The children had to solve this problem by finding out which apple was poisoned by the wicked witch. They worked hard to use the language; heaviest and lightest and had to compare all the different apples to find the solution.

The parents helped the children to keep Frederick the dragon happy in his cave. Frederick had to tell the King and Queen how many eggs their could be in the cave, each nest had different numbers of eggs in, he was only allowed two nests of eggs. The children added together two baskets of eggs to find Frederick some solutions.

Finally, no Royal dress up day would be complete without everyone wearing a gleaming crown. The children worked hard to create a crown to include a repeating pattern. All of Willow Class enjoyed some Royal fun and loved sharing their learning with their families. Thank you to all those who came and made our afternoon so enjoyable.
