Harvest Sale
Once again the Harvest Sale proved a firm favourite with our children, reflecting the school's Ethos and Values. In keeping with tradition, the Year 6 pupils enjoyed organising this event and the Year 5 children also helped, supported and encouraged our younger children to select their purchases and handle money, a great practical way to demonstrate their Maths skills.
It was decided that all of our non-perishable goods would be donated to the Basingstoke Foodbank. Click here to find out more about the support they provide in our local community.
Cakes, biscuits, fruit, vegetables, flowers etc were then sold at our sale and raised an incredible £227.09. Our Student Council decided that the charity this will be donated to is The Life Right Foundation who are a registered children's charity providing grants to disadvantaged children who have suffered abuse, neglect or trauma. This year Oak Class enjoyed picking, washing and bagging up the fruit from our school orchard to sell at the sale.
