Year R visit Cliddesden Garage

On Wednesday 4th October, Willow Class Foundation Stage children walked to our local garage in Cliddesden. We wore our hi-vis jackets to keep us safe and were very sensible along the narrow roads.

At the garage, we said hello to Mr Mansbridge, and went on a hunt for different objects and vehicles. Some were easy to spot and others needed a little help.

Mr Mansbridge has so many amazing vintage vehicles, which he has re-built and made like new. We learnt about black number plates, narrow wheels, wooden wheels and big lights.

Mr Mansbridge showed us the crank handle for starting the engines and the crank for sounding a noisy horn. It was like a duck!

After some refreshments and big thank-you’s we walked back to school.

Thank-you to Mr and Mrs Manbridge for looking after us and letting us look round the amazing garage. Also, we would like to say thank-you to Mrs Stanley for helping and arranging the visit.

Quinn said, “I like the big chain. It’s for lifting really heavy things.”

Isabella said, “I like the Tug because it’s new now and shiny red.”

Annaleigha said, ”I like the old brown truck. I like the round and round thing. If you wind it in the rain, you’d get wet!”
