MP Ranil Jayawardena visit

Local MP Ranil Jayawardena visits Cliddesden Primary School

On Friday 22nd April, Cliddesden Primary School had the pleasure of a visit from Ranil Jayawardena, the Member of Parliament for North East Hampshire. Mr Jayawardena, was given a comprehensive tour around the school by Head Girl Amanda, Head Boy Jack and their deputies, Carys and Sebastian.

To enrich their recent study on the British value of democracy, Oak Class had the opportunity to ask Mr Jayawardena questions that they had prepared. These ranged from general questions like how he became an MP and what does his work involve, to more current issues about the government’s proposal for all schools to become academies and the EU referendum.

Ranil said: “It was a real pleasure to visit Cliddesden School last week. Thank you very much to Amanda, Jack, Carys and Sebastian for showing me around and telling me more about the school. I particularly enjoyed my question and answer session with Oak Class, and having the opportunity to explain more about my role as their Member of Parliament.”
