Cliddesden Primary School held a Quiz Night on Friday 6th February 2015. There were 6 teams who took part. The returning Quiz Master held a rattling reception before revealing the rounds. Some were children’s questions and some altogether.

The first round was named Partners in Crime.

In this round we had to guess famous characters and their sidekick. This was particularly challenging for the children but Mr Stapleton had some simple question in his hand, such as Batman and who???

The adults were having a deep chat about which films they had watched, while the children were just chomping and munching away on popcorn and crisps. This was amusing for the children as they were hearing what films their parents had been watching while they were in bed. The teams who had played their joker were going through some tough times as Mr Stapleton read out the questions.

A Game of Tag was the next set of questions. This was another films and movies round with another challenging set of questions. This was a particularly interesting round as the parents went through moments of flashbacks as they had a stress as they knew the person but didn’t know who they were. At least the children can have a chuckle at their parents.

The third round was called Taking the Prize.  In this round Mr Stapleton had to call out a trophy for example “The World Cup” then we had to guess which sport it was won for. In this round one team got 10/10 however, got even luckier as they controversially played their joker (this means you double the points you won in that round).

The next round was a lucky round for Chestnut Class as it was about the Romans. Mr Stapleton called out a meaning of a word and we had to guess it, for example ‘The year of our lord ‘ was Anno Donomi, this was a real test for everyone. The parents had flashbacks to Secondary school as they were trying to remember their Latin.

The next round was the table round. In this round Mr Stapleton gave us a sheet of paper and we had to name the famous actor or characters. We had a ten minute break while trying to name these. There were a couple of children’s characters and then famous actors which the children had to let their parents take over!!!

The next round was called All Creatures Great and Small.  In this round Mr Stapleton named a club with an animal in and then we had to guess the animal, for example Miami and Dolphins. This had a major impact as if you didn’t know your animals you won’t succeed. When Mr Stapleton revealed the subjects the teams who had played their joker on this round let out an almighty grunt as they thought it was a good choice but then they thought it was a bad idea. This was one of the most challenging rounds.

The next round was called All in the Game.  All in the Game was about famous board games. Mr Stapleton gave clues for a board game and we had to guess them. As the clues were read out the adults were sitting confidently forward in their chair as they thought they were easy questions. The first couple were quite simple but they simply got harder and harder.

The next round was I say, I say, I say.  This round was a round were we had to guess the famous quotes, for example Martin Luther King said his 'I have a dream' speech. Mr Stapleton read out the first part of it and we had to guess it. This was a very challenging round, you needed a bit of luck. When it was over there was a sigh of relief.

The next and final round was Location, Location, Location. This round was most peoples favourite, because it was the music round. In this round there was a track of music playing and it stopped at a destination on earth. We had a few people muttering the place and they had a very nervy few minutes as they thought they gave it away. In this round you could get a maximum of 44 points.

After this round lots of nerves were ringing around the room. Finally the results were revealed the wooden spoon winners this year were: I’d rather be watching the rugby. Cameron strolled with a frown on his face to receive it.

Then the winners were revealed:  Weasels Armpits who collected their prize.
