Year 5 and 6 Athletics Tournament
On a very wet and windy day Cliddesden School athletics team demonstrated stamina, determination, power and great camaraderie at the 2016 Basingstoke Athletics event.
With events such as javelin, triple jump and long and short distance running, the team made up of Year 5 and 6 children modeled their developing skills.
Our best feet were forward in the running events with multiple heats won by both boys and girls. In a very exciting moment during the girls 2 by 2 relay, where there was a fierce competition over the greater distance, Frankie demonstrated great power and speed to chase down the others in the final leg and snatch first place.
Some enormous throws were made by Carys and Fred during the javelin and Luis showed determination during the speed bounce.
The Cliddesden team were supportive to one another and the other teams throughout the event and were extremely pleased with the final result: 3rd place, which enables Cliddesden athletic team to qualify for the Finals.
