Year 6 vs Staff - Netball
The time had come! Staff had been waiting all year to gain revenge on the Year 6's for the previous Year 6 win in their football match at the end of last year.
The choice of sporting activity this time was Netball and with our slight height advantage (in some cases), we were quietly confident! However, we were not totally prepared for how fast these children move! Zipping in and out, defending and attacking, they certainly made the staff work hard.
The game was full of action; Mrs Hussey with her incredible shooting skills, Mrs Smith being led a merry dance by Verity, Mr Sumner after repeated cautions and Mrs Lavender for obstructing play being sent to the 'sin bin' for 2 minutes each, (although we do question the ref's decision!)
These children never cease to amaze. They are competitive, yet work together as a team, encouraging and supporting each other where they can and being incredibly good sports in defeat.
It was then the Year 6's turn to experience a height advantage as they played some KS1 children. Again, it demonstrated how well they all work at being one big team.
