MacMillan Dress Up and Dance Day

Report by:

We dressed up and danced!

Cliddesden Primary School participated in the MacMillan Cancer Support Dress Up and Dance Day on the 20th June to raise money for cancer.

MacMillan Cancer Support is a charity to support people with cancer, MacMillan don't just support the patient they help families of those patients with cancer.

I found out that MacMillan were needing schools all over the UK to dress up and dance.  So I read about MacMillan and what we needed to do to raise money.

Having given it a lot of thought I decided to make it work.  I asked Mr Davies about MacMillan Dress Up and Dance and he said he had done this at his old school and that we could go ahead.

Mr Davies asked Miss Crawford if she could take some time out of her spare time to teach some of the year 6 children the dance routines we were given by MacMillan.

The first dance we learnt was 'The Fairytale', then 'Super Hero' and finally 'Flamenco'.  We got very confused on the flamenco as it was very fast.

We raised £157.91 and we are all very proud of everyone for co-operating and for their enthusiasm.

To make the day even more exciting, Mr Davies included face painting and Mrs Wood spent all day designing and painting the faces of those children who wanted it.

We all had a great time dressing up and we hope that Cliddesden Primary School with continue with MacMillan Dress Up and Dance as we will not be here next year.
