KS2 Cricket Tournament

On Thursday 5th of June the school’s cricket club, led by Mr Barden, took part in a cricket tournament held at Mays Bounty. The team enjoyed their day out and their 4 games although sadly though they didn’t get through to the quarter-final and the finals.

Game 1 vs St Martins by Olivia P

We played four games. Our first match was against St Martin’s school on pitch one. We fielded and bowled whilst they batted, then we swapped. We lost by twelve runs unfortunately. However we only had four weeks of the club so we did very well.

Game 2 vs St Marks by Sean

In the first match Olivia, Thomas, Sebastian , Oliver, Sean, Fred, Max and Katie played against St Marks while James and George sat on the side. Sadly we lost that match.

Game 3 vs Oakley by Fred

Cliddesden went into this game hoping for a win and they started well taking a few early wickets and keeping the score low. Later on there was another charge for wickets by Fred and Max. Setting a low score of 233.

The run chase started well as Thomas and Seb put on a few runs to start the chase. Sean and Olivia scored a couple of runs. Katie and Max scored a few singles and Katie also scored a four.

Lastly Fred and Oliver scored a few boundaries and Cliddesden scored 211. A loss but still convincing signs for the next game.

Game 4 vs St.Bedes by Katie

We played well as a team against St Bedes. We scored some runs and made some wickets. Although we lost by 57 runs we tried our best and had lots of fun. It was hard because we have only been playing for 6 or 7 weeks and they have been playing for a lot more than that. Our bowling was great and batting was good but they had exceptionally good players and really good batting and bowlers. The main thing was that we enjoyed it and did our best.
