Consortium Science
On Thursday we were lucky enough to have a visit from some scientists and engineers from AWE. They showed the year 5, and a few year 4's, some amazing experiments to do with properties of materials.
They then set us a challenge - they are running a competition to see which school can invent the most creative experiment link to materials. The best group from each school will go forward to the finals and could win some excellent prizes. Over the next few weeks the children will be inventing, experimenting and recording using materials. We will let you know which group goes to the final and how they get on at the end of June.
On the 5th May a few people from AWE came to talk to Year 5's and Year 4's about a science competition and lots of fun experiments. They showed us how to do the experiments. All those who attended had an amazing time and learnt lots. The first experiment was testing how many waves go around in 10 seconds, all the waves tested made a total of 7. After that we made alien soup and then we had to get all the ingredients by using different resources.
