Willow Class Moon Buggy Workshop
This half term Willow Class have been exploring space and aliens. On Thursday 8th February Willow Class came to school dressed as astronauts and aliens. The children worked really hard with their parents at home to create amazing costumes and space helmets. The helmets the children made were so good Mr Davies couldn't help but try them on!
In the afternoon, Willow Class parents were invited to share our learning. Willow Class performed two songs they had learnt about space. These songs helped the children learn facts about the planets and taught us one less. Willow Class had explored moon buggies and designed their own, thinking carefully about the shapes they had used and how the moon buggy would communicate with the space ship.
Together with our parents we learnt about fixed axles and wheels to create a moving space buggy. All the children and parents of Willow Class worked well as a team to share resources and create wonderful moon buggies. Each moon buggy was unique with colorful designs. We then tested all the moon buggies out the following day and they all traveled successfully across our school hall.
Thank you to all the parent helpers for making our moon buggy creation afternoon so enjoyable.
