Oak Class Parent Workshop
On Tuesday 20th, as part of Cliddesden Book Week, Oak class invited their parents to join them for the afternoon. We had been learning all about the author Lewis Carroll, who was famous for writing Alice in Wonderland. The sequel to Alice in Wonderland (Alice through the looking glass) includes the poem "Jabberwocky" which we had read in class. Even though it has made-up words, we found that we could still understand what happened in the poem. We could even use our grammar skills to work out whether the made-up words were adjectives, nouns or verbs. With our adults, we invented new words and created our own versions, using the original structure of Jabberwocky. We finished the afternoon with some performances of our new creations. Some of our finished versions can now be seen on display in reception - do come and read them!
