Year 5/6 Football Tournament
On Friday 28th September our Year 5 and 6 football team took part in the annual 'Small Schools' football tournament at Wide Lane, Southampton. Schools with less than 150 pupils on roll from around the county took part. We arrived in style in a Brighton Hill minibus and the sun was shining, ready for battle.
This was the first time that some of the team had played at this level for the school and they wore the colours with pride.
We played 9 games in total, each lasting 8 minutes. We started well drawing against our first two opponent and then managed a 1-0 victory over Smannell Primary.
From then on it was a mixed bag, winning two more games and losing four. Overall we finished 6th in the group out of 10 teams. In each game we showed determination and left the tournament with our heads high.
Congratulations to Hale Primary for winning the competition for the second year in a row and to our old rivals, North Waltham, for coming second.
