Global Navigation visit Oak Class

On Thursday 17th September 2015, Tangle International (an African dance and drama company) visited Oak Class for an afternoon of learning about different cultures called Global Navigation. We played a variety of team games and learnt hello in different languages - such as: Hola (Spanish), Guten Tag (German), Ciao (Italian) and Namaste (Indian).
One activity that we played consisted of freeze-framing what we thought a photo from another country would look like, and then the rest of the group tried to guess what was going on in the freeze-frame.
Another activity we played was called Logs and Blades. To play this game you line up horizontally and if a hand slashes up high, you have to duck, and if it swings low, you have to jump at the appropriate time. When you jump or duck at the wrong time, you're out. We played this game to show our listening skills.
We also played a game where we were all in a circle and when two opposite people walked in the circle they had to say hello in a different language. But to make the game harder we had to maintain eye contact throughout the time you were in the circle.
All in all the afternoon we spent with Global Navigation was extremely enjoyable and fun.
