Chestnut Class - Mosaic Workshop
Individually, the children had prepared designs for a mosaic. They had researched Roman designs and took their inspiration from these ancient works of art.
During the afternoon, parents came and helped as ‘slaves’ to the master/mistress designers.
The children showed resilience as the process of matching and sticking tiles takes time and patience.
Everyone had a brilliant time, and produced good quality mosaics.
Luis said 'I enjoyed making the mosaics because my favourite subject is Art. I learnt that the wealthy Romans had experts come into their houses and build them.'
