Beech Class visit Newman Court
Beech Class continued to build and develop our school relationship with Newman Court Resource Centre, a day centre for adults with dementia.
We understand how these visits impact both the children and the adults, both gaining so much from these experiences.
The children enjoyed sharing information about our current Alien topic and were very proud to show off their Topic Books and read some of the stories we have shared in class. They also talked about Tim Peake and the International Space Centre and finally they explained that we do 'mindfulness colouring' to keep us relaxed and to improve our presentation. We all had fun giving this a go.
It was fascinating hearing some of the adults stories, some from many years ago.
As a school we believe it is important for children to engage with the local community and understand their place within it. We were incredibly proud of how they spoke and behaved during our visit.
