Chestnut Class visit Butser Hill Farm
Chestnut class enjoyed a wonderful visit to Butser Hill Farm, to support our topic on Pre Historic Britain. The children had the opportunity to experience first hand a range of Stone Age customs including; Chaulking, Rune carving, pottery and an Archaeological dig.
Butser Hill Farm has a range of dwellings from the Stone Age to Roman Villas and we had an enjoyable time looking round the different dwellings and observing how life developed through the Pre Historic period. We were amazed by their resourcefulness and how many of their building processes and designs of everyday items, such as flasks and weaving looms survive to this day.
The children enthusiastically participated in all the activities and were a credit to the school.
