KS1 Skipping Competition

Eight Year 1 and Year 2 children travelled to Castle Hill Infants to compete against 13 schools in the annual skipping competition. There were four elements within the competition:

Individual skipping where the children tried to do as many skips as possible.
Long rope skip where the children tried to do as many skips as possible.
Freestyle skipping where the children got points for the more creative they were.
Paired long rope skipping, where timing is everything, to skip as many skips as possible.

It was a privilege to watch out young team demonstrate excellent sportsmanship throughout the competition. They celebrated the successes and perseverance of the other teams and watched them with interest. Rylan wowed the judges with an enormous number of skips in the individual skipping, 250! Also, we watched with awe at Emily's freestyle skip where she demonstrated some impressive skill. The whole team tried their best throughout the competition.

The children waited with baited breath to find out our placing this year and they were extremely pleased to come 3rd.

Well done Cliddesden skipping team.
