Year 1 and 2 - Schools Education Fire Engine
The Hampshire Education Firetruck visited Year 1 and 2 on Thursday 11th December. The children found out about all the areas of danger both at school and home. They were told all about fire safety and were encouraged to go home and ask their parents to check that their fire alarms worked!
The highlight of the visit was to dress as a fire fighter, climb into the truck and take part in a high speed simulation through the streets of Southampton. Once they arrived at the scene of the fire the children climbed out of the truck and each child had a turn at putting out a (pretend) fire!
Please ask your child to recite the fire safety poem and tell you all about how to keep safe at home.
