Southampton Football Club
Some of our Year 4 pupils were the first to take part in an educational visit outside school since February 2020. As a partner school to The Saints Foundation, we were invited to bring along ten children to a sports event at St Mary’s Stadium, home to Southampton FC. Miss Haresign’s report:
On the football pitch, we rotated around 4 different activities. The first was a game of handball where we were given secret challenges (passing to each player in the team) to earn extra points for our team.
The second station made us challenge ourselves by choosing the size of our goals, the distance we had to pass the ball and how we could pass the ball to our partner.
On the third station, we played a game which was a mixture of stuck in the mud and football.
Finally, the last and the best station was a mini football match where we scored our own goals at St Mary's!
The children really enjoyed their afternoon.
