This half-term we will be learning about the early Islamic civilisation in History. We will start by comparing what was happening in Britain at the same time and then learn more about how the trade links and discoveries developed in this civilisation impacted on Baghdad and the wider world. Our Art work will be based on the patterns, decorations and architecture of the Islamic civilisation and in R.E. we will also consider how places of worship are made sacred, including mosques and Christian churches.
In French, we will learn how to describe places we find in our school and our Science work this term will cover the physics of light and sound. Later this term we will apply our musical and dramatic skills by rehearsing and performing our end of term production, "Pirates of the Currybean", which we are looking forward to sharing with you all. Depending on government restrictions at that time, that will either be in person or as a digital recording. Further information will be sent nearer the time when we know ourselves!
Our English work will be loosely linked to topics covered in the foundation subjects and we will use a range of texts as a stimulus for reading, writing and learning more about grammar.
The Library is currently closed due to COVID19 restrictions.
Spellings will be set using Google Classroom and the following week a digital spelling test will be set, also in their Google Classroom. Children are expected to do their spelling test as part of their homework. Times tables should also be practised at home (using the Times Tables Rockstars website) and will be tested in school on Fridays.
PE is on Tuesday and Friday, please come to school wearing PE kit.

Curriculum Overview Summer 2021
As part of our work in Design & Technology, we created working models of fairground rides. Our next step is to use coding software to write a program which will control our model, using a small computer called a crumble.
