KS2 Girls Rugby Tournament
On the 17th June our Girls Tag Rugby team took part in a festival at Oakley Junior School. Twelve Basingstoke schools took part and there were two Leagues with the winner from each League playing in the final. Most of the team had played in our mixed team in The Georgian League earlier this year but two new members, Skyelah and Chloe from Year 4, made their debuts.
In our league we gained 19 points out of a maximum 25, beating Sherborne St John, Fairfields and St Mary's, drawing against Castle Hill and losing only to Oakley. This meant we finished a very respectable second in our league. We are very proud of our girls’ performance considering we played some much larger schools and the weather was incredibly hot.
The winners of the two leagues, Oakley and North Waltham played out a dramatic final sharing the winning trophy with a 9-9 draw. Thank you to Roger Filbey from Overton RUFC for organising the event.
