On Monday 14 March we travelled to Longparish for the third round of The Georgian League. Cliddesden managed to win all three of their games with some exceptional play, particularly from Tyler who once again increased his try scoring.

With one more round left on the 29th, there is all to play for as Cliddesden have 31 points, just behind North Waltham and Longparish who both have 33 points. It will make for an exciting finish.

On Thursday 17 March we played a friendly against Hatch Warren Juniors. This was in order to give every child who comes to the tag rugby club a chance to play for the school. It was a longer game and we were able to operate rolling substitutions so everyone had time playing. We won the match 10-8 but I awarded a bonus try to Hatch Warren for fair play. Our coach, Ocin Erwee, is doing a fantastic job in getting the best out of our players.

At the end of March our tag rugby team played in the final stage of the Georgian League at Brighton Hill. We went into the stage two points behind the joint leaders North Waltham and Longparish. We started well, beating Barton Stacey convincingly 4 tries to 1. However, against North Waltham we couldn’t sustain the same form and were defeated 1-4. Our final game against Longparish was close but the visitors edged passed us by one try. North Waltham won all their games and were crowned champions. Cliddesden finished a respectable third place out of four.

This was a very tough league and all the teams were of a high standard. Cliddesden should take pride that over the 12 matches that they played, they scored 33 tries. A big thank you to Ocin Erwee for coaching the team this season.
