African Dance and Drumming Workshops
On Tuesday 11th February we were treated to a visit from the Zamble African Dance Company. On a cold windy February day, a taste of African sun shone down on Cliddesden! Gaspard taught each class an African Dance and Nii accompanied him on the Djembe. The dances required good coordination and lots of energy, and all the children participated fully with smiles on their faces. It was great to learn new dance techniques and experience West African culture.
After the workshops we all gathered in the Hall and each class performed their dance routine. It was amazing to see how much they had learned in just one workshop. Oak Class' performance was especially good as it began with our own Alize leading a African traditional song.
