Oak Production - Go for Gold

Our story starts with breaking news from the Air Olympic Sports News Studio: A top athlete (Suzie Swift) is reported to be pulling out of the Olympic games due to lack of sponsorship.

Back at Suzie’s house, her trainer (Phyllis Offy) and her comical family are discussing the ins and outs of doing the games when Phyllis mentions how the games started in Ancient Greece and talks about some of the great heroes of those Olympics.

There is a flashback to Ancient Greece, where the games began. An intelligent group of Athenian scholars have their peaceful contemplation disrupted by a rowdy bunch of Spartan warriors. Their discussions are disrupted by a messenger, who bears the news that a truce from all fighting between states has been declared by the order of Zeus.

Zeus is worried by Hades' (God of the Underworld) attempts to train a rival athlete to face Milo, his champion. However, Hades' rival (Gorgeous Michaelus) is useless. Although she has stolen Milo’s training regime, she has mistakenly trained by eating beef burgers instead of lifting a cow. Hades is not enamoured with Gorgeous' Plan B, which involves donning Nike (the Greek goddess of triumph) running shoes in order to run away from Milo as opposed to wrestling with him. Instead Hades decides to stir up trouble between the different competing states, in the hope that this will result in the games’ cancellation.

Zeus has a favourite athlete - Milo the wrestler - who is a six times champion at the games. We learn of his training strategy: he used to train by lifting a calf for 9 months until it gradually grew into a cow. When we meet Milo, we see him training in his garden and sharing his training regime with his children, Maxi and Mini, under the watchful gaze of his adoring wife, Myia.

The ploy fails in the end because there is too much love for the Olympics and everybody realises that the games can take the place of war.

Suzie is so inspired by this story that she decides to compete after all and the Gods all arrive at the end to join in her celebration party.
