Be Nice Bus

The Be Nice Bus is a bus that is against bullying and cyber-bullying. The year 5’s had a lot of fun during their morning on the bus. First, we had to cheer and shout in a short video about stopping bullying and cyber-bullying. We then each had to describe a word about The Be Nice Bus, a few examples are: happy, smiley, joyful and emojis.

Next we watched 3 videos; the first one was of a boy being cyber-bullied over a photo of him and his crush. He got many insulting messages that were hurtful and a few said he didn’t deserve the girl, but people also said other things. The second video was the one of the bully’s perspective. Then we all watched it and we saw that the only reason the bully did this was because he got told off badly in class and decided that he would take out his anger on this person. The last video was of the bystander’s perspective (the victim’s crush). She was walking over to her class and she saw the bully’s message. The boy who was bullied was sitting on the stairs at school and the girl opened the door, briefly glanced at him and then just walked away without a word coming out of her mouth.

Then we played a game, where the guide said something and we stood up if we liked it and stayed sat down if we didn’t like it. Some of the examples are: TV, pizza, school, brussel sprouts, maths, Xbox and finally bullying. Next they gave out tickets to everyone and we had to write a pledge to say we would help if anyone got bullied - then we signed it. Finally, we had a picture outside of the bus with all the year 5’s standing in front of it.

In conclusion, we all loved going on The Be Nice Bus and we all learnt a lot about bullying.
