Year 5/6 Cricket Tournament
The spectacular Kwik Cricket took place on the 7th June 2018 it was cloudy and was threatening to drizzle. At 8:45 we entered the school in our Cricket kit, hoping for a nice day. At 9:15 we departed on our journey to the tournament, located at ‘Mays Bounty Cricket Club’ & waited eagerly anticipating our first game.
At 10:30 we played our first school, which was: Henry Beaufort school which is located in Winchester. We had a tremendous game, but we unfortunately lost. The Cliddesden team started the game batting while Henry Beaufort started fielding. We did very well, but the wickets kept catching us out. When the teams swapped roles, we did OK but they had exceptionally strong batters; which made the ball go flying when they hit it.
At approximately 10:50 we played Oakley, & lost again, but our coach (Mr Barden) encouraged us by saying “We were better in this game then the previous one,” after we played. Oakley managed to keep getting us out quite quickly. Again we did well but the wickets got us out. Oakley was also very strong batters.
In our last match we were steam – rolled again. But Mr Barden encouraged us again by saying “well done you did much better than your last game.” After that, we were heading back to the car park to go back to school. Just before we were going back we got told that we had another game. The last school was Park view. Unfortunately, we lost .
