KS2 - Judo Workshop
On Tuesday 8th of November, using the Sainsbury’s sport vouchers we had previously been donated, Cliddesden School managed to get a Judo lesson from Paul, a professional Judo coach. During this lesson we all had lots of fun and got fit.
First we had to learn how to land safely, the easiest way to do this was by rolling. We lined up by the edge of the hall and one after the other rolled down the length of the hall. We all managed it and moved to the next task- falling backwards. We had to trip backwards fall to the fall and slam our hands on the mats, it got very noisy!
Next we had to trip our opponent up on purpose so we got into partners and watched Paul. He told us to stand in front of our partner and hook a foot around their leg and pull. Some of us found this easier than others but we all had fun. Throughout the lesson we learnt lots of new techniques as well as the Japanese word for every move. We all learnt a new sport and we may have inspired some future Judo players!
