Year 5/6 Tag Rugby
The year 5 & 6 Rugby team made a very impressive start to the season at Hatch Warren Primary School on Tuesday 8th November. Without any prior training together they quickly gelled as a team and looked dangerous every time they had the ball.
They drew 2-2 in their first match with Chalk Ridge, and then beat Hatch Warren 5-4. They were very unlucky to lose their final match against St. John’s 1-0 after a great individual try by Hope was disallowed because she dived over the try line, which is a foul in tag rugby.
Although there were great individual tries scored through Sam’s blistering pace, Guy’s evasive running and Hope’s power, what was most impressive was that several of Cliddesden’s tries came from good teamwork and supporting each other.
With more matches next year and a girl’s only tournament next March the future is very promising for Cliddesden!
