KS1 visit Beaulieu
The Year 1 and 2 children had a great day at Beaulieu Motor Museum. We travelled by coach spotting different vehicles on the way. Sharon met us at the museum and was our guide for the day. We learnt all about the history of transport from early Penny Farthings to electric vehicles today. It was amazing to see all sorts of cars and how they changed over time. We even saw a car that had the passenger seats in the front! How did the driver see? We waved a red flag in front of an early car to tell people to get out of the way! We loved dressing up and sitting in an old car and seeing Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
The children were really excited to ride on the monorail which went through the roof of the museum! We could see everything.
The vintage bus from London was good fun too. We went on the open top deck and rode around the grounds looking at the old Abbey, the grand house and gardens.
The children asked lots of great questions and were a credit to the school.
