Warburton's Workshop
On Tuesday 29th November Chestnut Class were visited by two ladies who work for Warburtons - the famous bakery.
We learnt that there are 12 Warburtons bakeries and 4500 people work for the company, including, managers, inventors, bakers, engineers, lorry drivers, school visitors and office workers.
We also learnt about the Eatwell Guide, which showed us what food groups there are and how much of each group we should eat each day.
During the afternoon we made healthy sandwiches using brown bread, as much salad as we liked, two fillings - meat, fish or dairy and one portion of butter or sauce.
We enjoyed the afternoon and learnt lots about making a healthy sandwich. We even got a goodie bag to take home to share with our families.
